ART IN THE MANDRAKE
The artwork at The Mandrake embodies the spirit and soul of the spaces that you encounter. They communicate with you as you enter a room with excitement, provocation and contemplation. Often playing with the narratives of darkness and light, there is a common theme amongst the collection ...
Works are provocative, sensual, exotic, beautiful, fun and sometimes even dark, but always creative. Each and every piece has been sourced for the specific area it occupies. Where the perfect work has not been found, artists have been commissioned to work closely with the space and ethos of the hotel to create a new piece. In this way, these artists become permanently connected with the soul of the hotel.

OUR ARTIST IN RESIDENCE PROGRAMME
The Mandrake pulsates with creativity, passion, and expression. More than a luxurious hotel with a constantly evolving curated art on display, The Mandrake in Fitzrovia, regularly hosts emerging and established artists and performers, for interactive sessions that truly feed into the hotel’s ‘stay beyond yourself’ philosophy.
The Mandrake’s Artist in Residence programme (AiR) strives to provide an interactive playground, where artist and visitor interact in the hotel’s exquisitely designed spaces to create original, unique, provocative, and live works of art. Hotel guests and visitors witness close-hand the creative process of our artists and are often part of the work itself, becoming an essential element of the photo, tattoo, painting, mural, or music that is created.
With this in mind we invite each Artist to collaborate with us and immerse themselves in The Mandrake
and to take up residency in Studio 5.

SPIRITUAL WELLBEING
The Mandrake, we not only welcomed guests from every corner of the globe, but have also built a unique, eclectic spiritual wellbeing offering here in the heart of London. This program has been curated to inspire you in trying new experiences with us and to keep nourishing your spirit, as much as your mind and body.
From Crystal Bowl Meditations, Weekly Gong Baths, Cacao Ceremonies, Full Moon Gong Baths, Rituals, Ceremonies and more, we have found the finest guides for incredible sensory experiences. We have an answer to whatever your soul needs, as we believe every soul is different.
Sound healing is an ancient practice, one which is used to guide people into a state of deep relaxation and peace. Various musical instruments, including gongs, crystal bowls, conches and tibetan bowls are played to put the mind into alpha and then theta brainwave rhythm, this enables the mind to expand consciousness and go into a dream like state. This deeply meditative place enables healing on not only an emotional level, but also cellular, with the sound vibrations and the frequencies bathing every cell of the body to give a ‘sonic massage’. Participants end the session relaxed, rejuvenated and sometimes having a deeply transformative experience.
